DONALD GENE TAYLOR, 75, resident of Mariner Health Care Center of Huntington, formerly of 2951 Harvey Road, born Aug. 3, 1928, went home to be with the Lord Feb. 17, 2004. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Bryan Chaffins. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Huntington. He was a retired employee of Taylor Scrap Metal Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Cynthia Newman Taylor; his wife, Barbara Rickman Taylor, who passed away Sept. 2, 2001; three sisters, Bonnie Panell, Mildred Fannin and Elsie Taylor; and three brothers Robert, Clarence and Marian Paul Taylor. Survivors include eight children and their spouses, Karen and Charlie Adams, Patty Johnson, Judy and David Pennington, Donald Taylor Jr. and his wife Beverly, David and Pam Taylor and Rod and Melissa Taylor, all of Huntington, Diane Taylor of New Boston, Ohio, and Marsha and Bryan Chaffins of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley and John Osborne of Wayne, W.Va., and Phyllis Curnutte of Kenova, W.Va.; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Nellie Taylor and Glen and Mary Anne Taylor, all of Huntington. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home.
