PAUL EDWARD MURPHY, 79, of Huntington, husband of Betty McDonough Murphy, passed away Monday March 1, 2004 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral liturgy will be concelebrated by Monsignor Lawrence Luciana and Father Julian Marnini at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. He was born November 20, 1924, in Sweet Chelebeate, Va., a son of the late Joseph and Catherine Callahan Murphy. He was a retired deliveryman for Mootz-Sunbeam Bakery. He was also a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Anne Murphy; two sons-in-law, Joseph Willis and Anthony Ogg; three brothers and two sisters. Additional survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mike and Mary Murphy, Tim Murphy and Tom and Susan Murphy; six daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia Ogg, Mary Ellen Murphy, Bridget and Bernard Childers, Paula and Treacy Johnson, Colleen Willis and Kathleen Breeding; 17 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold T. Murphy; a sister, Pauline Clark and several nieces and nephews. Contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Grade School, 520 13th St., Huntington, WV 25701. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Betty, Harold, Patricia, Mike, Tim, and the rest of the Murphy clan: So very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. Know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will be remembering Paul in my Masses this weekend and, of course, on St. Paddy's Day.
