HELEN FAYE LeGRANDE SMITH, 74, of Huntington departed this realm of life Easter Sunday April 11, 2004. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. She was born September 15, 1929, in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clarence Russell and Virginia "Virgie" Lunsford LeGrande. She was retired from the Mildred Mitchell Bateman Hospital with 32 years of service and many special citations. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgie Plymale Mann and Louise Plymale Wilson. Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Lee Maynard; a son Daniel Brent Maynard and her beloved granddaughter Amie Maynard whom she cherished, loved and raised as her own daughter; her devoted brother W. Ames LeGrande II of Huntington; her sister, JoAnn Plymale Elder of Chesapeake, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Mathew Allen Maynard and Savannah Roschell Maynard. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home. She was the embodiment of unconditional love, which she freely gave to her family and friends. She will be forever missed and her memory deeply cherished.
