KENNETH E. PARTLOW Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1934 - 2004

KENNETH E. PARTLOW of Kenova, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2004. He was born October 2, 1934, in Cabell County, West Virginia, the eldest son of Rebecca M. Adkins Partlow and the late Durward C. Partlow. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth E. Partlow Jr.; his brother, Clifford Partlow; and sister, Mary Gibson. He leaves behind in this earthly world his loving wife of 28 years, Svenna Partlow; his caring mother, Rebecca; his sister, Betty; his brother, Robert Lee; his children, Kim, Kathy, Karen, Kenny, Kevin, Trina, Tonia, Kendal, Tiffany, Lori and Kendal’s siblings, Lance, Scott and Crystal; numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and a host of friends. He was retired from the former Owens-Illinois plant as a machine repairman and served as Union President of Local 212 Glass Moulders, Plastics and Allied Workers. He was former owner of Partlow’s Income Tax Service. He served as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, Notary Public, member and Grand Secretary of Lodge #64 Independent Order of Odd Fellows, member and former President of Lodge #66 Woodmen of the World, member and former President of the Ringside Brothers Boxing Organization, and served on numerous civic and charitable organizations. He also received Outstanding West Virginian and Outstanding Citizen Awards for working with youth. Kenny loved the sport of boxing and karate and despite his early losses, his determination, dedication and courage earned him numerous amateur titles, Golden Gloves Champion of Champions, Sportsmanship, Professional Middleweight Championship of West Virginia and Tae Kwan Do Karate Championship at Xavier University. He was inducted in the Southern W.Va. Hall of Fame. Kenny believed, accepted and professed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He believed it was our duty to help our fellow man and improve the land loaned to us. During troubled times, he would advise that God has promised He would not put more on you than you could handle. He also believed that God would always allow a way for us and thought strongly that all things work together for good for those who love God. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Gospel Church by Pastor Don Napier. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. Pallbearers will be Brothers of Lodge #64 Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Mr. Partlow will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Mrs.Partlow, I was very saddened to hear of Kenny's death. He worked with my mother @ O-I til her retirement. When she passed away in 1991,Kenny was so very helpful in getting all of her "paperwork" prepared for me. I could not have handled it myself. I will never forget his kindness. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Svenna and family, Words seem so inadequate at this time, but know that you are all in our prayers. I fell privileged to have known and worked with Kenny. He was a special person who would go that extra mile to help anyone in need. I loved his sense of humor and how he would giggle when he knew he had gotten one over on you. It's hard to lose a loved one, but we can rejoice in the knowledge that one day we will be reunited again with our family in heaven. Stephanie

Kathy. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I didn't know him but you sure sure knew mine. As you may know, "Daddy Chalkin'" left us back in '98. You were like one of my sisters along with Anne and Darline. Even though he was unable to speak much before he left us, he too found Christ I do believe. The Power is in Him that we will all be together again. I will pray for you all that He will help you through this time of sorrow. Love Rocky
