Agnes Staley Hatten, 79, of Prichard, WV widow of Clyde Otto Hatten, passed away Friday February 11, 2005 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Pastor Tom Baisden of the Shiloh United Methodist Church will conduct funeral services at noon on Monday at the Smith Memorial United Methodist Church, Prichard. Burial will follow at Docks Creek Cemetery, Maple Hill Section, Kenova, WV. She was born June 6, 1925 in Prichard, WV a daughter of the late William Henry and Judia Murray Staley. She was a former employee of Corbins. She was also an artist and member of the Tri-State Arts Association. Agnes was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, White’s Creek Chapter #159. She was a member of Smith Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught children and adult Sunday School classes, was leader of the laity for the church and a choir member. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a great grandson Cody Levi Plymale; three brothers Bennie Staley, Riley Staley and Strother Staley and four sisters; Georgia Staley Bailey, Jessie Staley Yelkey, Gladys Staley McKee and Nola Staley Preston. Survivors include a son and daughter in law Danny Otto and Peggy Sue Hatten of Williamsburg, VA.; a daughter and son in law Judy Marlene and Ronald Plymale of Huntington; three grandchildren and two spouses Rhonda Lynn and Ken McCaffrey of Huntington, Rachel Leah and Edward McDonald of Lynchburg, VA. and Jonathan Daniel Hatten of Williamsburg, VA.; Five Great Grandchildren Justin Ray Plymale, Breeanna Plymale and Brett Plymale all of Huntington, Ann Leah McDonald and Kathyrn Josette McDonald both of Lynchburg. Friends may call from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday at the Reger Funeral Home. Eastern Star White’s Creek Chapter #159 will conduct services at the funeral home at 7 pm Sunday. Members of the Buena Vista Lodge #60 AF&AM White’s Creek will be pallbearers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Smith Memorial United Methodist Church, Prichard, WV, 25555. Mrs. Hatten will be taken to the church one hour before service time on Monday.

We, the Loretta (Bailey) Ponader family would like to extend Aunt Agnes' family our deepest sympathy. We will always remember the happy visits we had with her when we could visit. May she rest in peace.
