1922 - 2007

Sarah L. Stubblefield, 84, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2007, at Heritage Nursing Center after a long illness. She was born in Macon County, Alabama, on August 22, 1922, to the late William and Annie Thomas. Her husband, the late William H. Stubblefield, preceded her in death, as well as her son, Winfred G. Stubblfield Sr. She was a member of the Missionary Society at Allen Chapel Greater Emanuel Church and a member of the Original Glorious Church of God. She was a woman of great strength who leaves a loving family to mourn, which includes her sister, Kate Simpson of Shorters, Ala., and brother Willie and wife Mildred Thomas of Shorters, Ala. Children include Genevieve Watts of Charles Town, WV., Alta M. Stubblefield of South Holland,Ill., Henry Stubblefield of Milwaukee, Wis., Cornell and wife Valerie Stubblefield, Willie Fred Stubblefield, and Gary T. and wife Ranae Stubblefield, all of Huntington. Seven grandchidlren include Winfred Stubblefield Jr., and William W. Stubblefield both of Huntington, Leroy M. and wife Chante Lawrence of Hampton, VA., Stephen A. Lawrence of Charles Town, WV., Ramone and wife Tiffany Stubblefield of Milwaukee, Wis., Patrick Stubblefield and Whitney Stubblefield of Huntington; ten great grandchildren; one great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 pm until 8 pm at Reger Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1 pm Friday at the Original Glorious Church of God at 1665 10th Avenue, Huntington. Pastor Martha Johnson will be officiating. Friends may call from noon until service time Friday at the church.
