1936 - 2007
E. Leonard “Lew” Plaster, 71, of Huntington, WV, let go of the hands of his beloved family and took the hand of Jesus to be reunited with family in Heaven on Friday October 19, 2007. He fought a valiant fight with cancer and Parkinson’s disease, before going home to receive his ultimate healing. He was born May 31, 1936 in Huntington to the late Ezburn L. and Dora Owens Plaster. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Maxine Plaster Kilgore and Mildred Plaster (Clarence) King, his father and mother in law, Johnnie and Laura Damron. He was a former employee with the city of Huntington. He is survived by family who loved him more than words could tell; his beloved wife of 46 years who was his rock throughout his illness, Mary M. Plaster; two daughters and sons in law , Karen and Tim Fischer and Linda and Paul Music, all of Huntington and the “epitome” of “daddy’s girl”; three grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Bethany and Shawna Fischer and John David Music, all of Huntington and a two week old great granddaughter whom he fought hard to stay and see born, Rylee Fischer; two sisters and three brothers in law , Nina and George Bickar, Betty and Carl Kilgore and Ernest Kilgore all of Huntington, a very special cousin whom was like an adopted sister, Marie (Howard) Baughn of Washington Court House, Ohio; one brother, Kenneth Plaster of Huntington; several nieces and nephews also survive. According to his wishes, there will be no visitation. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 pm Monday October 22, 2007 at 1:30 pm at Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington, by Pastor Jody Fortner. There will be no procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Huntington. The family would also like to say a “special thanks” to Karen and Christi of Hospice who were so wonderful to dad. Their loving kindness will not be forgotten. Dad, it’s not goodbye, it’s just so long for now – we’ll see you in the morning. Reger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made to the family at www.timeformemory.com/reger.

Mom:
I know how your heart is breaking, I know how you feel like you just can't go on, he was by your side for 46 years and now it seems that everything has ended! How awful that feels. But, just keep believing and holding on to what you know is true and that is we will see him again and that he is not here but with the Lord! To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. He is in a better place than us and better off than us. We are left to carry on his memory and cherish the beautiful memories, and to teach J.D. and Rylee what a special man that he was. I love you and pray that God will comfort you, just as I also pray for His comfort. I am here for you!

Dad:
I do not have words to tell you how heavy my heart is, how it aches for you, and how I wish for just another hour, a day, a year. But, I know that cannot happen, and I know that you are no longer suffering--no longer hurting, no longer struggling to breathe. In the midst of all my pain and heartache, God keeps letting me see and hear "Green Light"! Thank you for being my dad. I am proud to be your daughter! I love you so much! I'll see you soon!

Linda, I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your father. He is at rest now just as my Dad is. I think of my father every day, and you will think of yours everyday, but it will get better. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and give you peace.
