1949 - 2008
Sandra Adkins Fouch, 59, a devoted Christian and virtuous child of God, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 30, 2008. She passed away at her home in Chesapeake, OH after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 2, 2008 at the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church by Pastor Carl Lilly and Rev. Phillip Warren. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens.
She was born on August 25, 1949 in Lincoln County, WV, the daughter of Lillie V. Burton and the late Willie Burton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Adkins, her son, Nicky Lee Adkins, her brother, Billy Ray Burton, her second husband, Bill Huff, and in-laws Willard and Josephine Adkins, Lillian Huff, Bill Fouch and Kayla Underwood.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kelly (David) Stump, Kimberly (Randy) Smith, her husband, Bob Fouch, sisters Ruth (Gary) Metz, Barbara Burton and Sue Burton, grandchildren Nichole (Jason) Helmstetler, Jordan Stump, and Brock Smith, brothers-in-law Emmitt (Dolores) Adkins, Clifton (Debbee) Adkins and Larry (Donna) Fouch, sister-in-law Nancy (George) Cremeans, mother-in-law Wilma Fouch, stepchildren Billy Huff and Andy (Elizabeth) Huff, Bobby Fouch and Angie Underwood, grandchildren Kyle and Kody Underwood, Robert and Brad Fouch, Miles Huff and great grandchild Kamren Helmstetler, fifteen nephews and nieces, all of which she loved very much, special brothers Allen Adkins and Virgil Atkins, and a multitude of other loving family members and special friends.
She was a faithful member of Sunshine Baptist Church in Huntington, WV and owner of K-Lee Trucking. Sandy was a kind, compassionate and caring person who was deeply loved by all who knew her. She lived her life for the Lord and continued to witness to many during her final days here with us. Our loss is Heavens gain, and although she will be truly missed, her memory will never fade from our hearts.
Friends may call from 3- 8 pm Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the sunshine Freewill Baptist Church.

Hey Mimi, I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I'm thinking of you. I love you so much. You'd be so obsessed with all of your great-grandkids. (How could that even be real)?! I NEVER stop thinking of all of the memories we made. During a time in my life when I'm the most unsure about, really, everything... I know you're still guiding me along. May you always walk closely with us.

Bob, God gave you another chance to do right and be a child of His that He could be proud of by bringing Sandi into your life. Please don't let your Heavenly Father down, especially at a time like this. Don't fail Him because of greed and self-centeredness. Think about what will happen to you when you leave this earth and where you would want to spend eternity. These are trying times for all the family. We all miss Sandi and know what a special gift she gave each of us spiritually and morally. Please go to your Father and His Word. I want to suggest some passages for you to read. Of course, the entire book of Proverbs is special and helpful, but Chapters 6:12-19, 2:10-22, and 24:8 are especially profound. Also, 1 Timothy 3, the entire Epistle of James and finally, Ephesians Chapter 4. Please take time to read these. The Lord is a Fortress in Adversity and His Word is Law. I pray that the Lord will help you and burdened your heart with shame and remorse in hopes that you will do what is right in His eyes. Go to Him and the Book of Psalms, which is full of Christ. Hopefully God is giving you another chance, for we know that He doesn't want to give up on His children. He will take care of us. But we need to want Him and want to do His will. We must fight evil and Satan and submit to God and His ways, not our own selfish ways. I pray that God will have mercy on you. I will be praying for you.

What a true child of God. When faced with adversity she went to God for guidance and it showed in her everyday life and that was the smile everyone saw. True Grace. Oh, what the world would be like if there Sandy's everywhere. I consider myself blessed to have grown up with this family. I love you Kim and Kelly. I am here if you need me.

We just wanted to let you know that you are in our thoughts, hearts, and prayers, always. We love you so very much and our hearts ache for you knowing how much you will miss your Mother, as we will also. Sandi was one in a million and can never be replaced, but she will live on, not only in our memories, but in the two of you, Kell and Kim. We are especially thankful that she was a part of our lives and will never forget how caring and compassionate, understanding, strong, loving.....the list goes on and on. Words alone will never do her justice...only the loving impression that she left in each of our hearts that warms our souls and refreshes the memories of all the happy and joyful times spent with her. Thinking of her and those moments and her beautiful smile can only bring a smile to our face as well and lift our spirits knowing that we will see her again someday.

To the Family:
I shall never forget Sandy coming to visit my mother, Dorothy Crum, in the hospital. She was so dear and sweet and had such compassion for my Mom. She brought a big smile to my mother's face upon her entrance into my mother's room.
My mother and I conversed daily and oftentimes she'd tell me all about Sandy and would always say, "Sandy is the sweetest thing. I just love her." Sandy displayed such kindnesses for others and it did not go unnoticed.
I am sure God was waiting for her and said "Welcome home, my child."
Blessings, Flora Crum Carter
