Paul was my room mate in Dental school. We had so much fun together and at parties and functions. He and his family had relatives in Greenbrier county and we always talked about home. I loved helping Paul in his first and second year dental school. Time passes so quickly. I didnt know of Paul's illness and I wish i had got to say goodbye to him. I will miss him but he will always be in my memories. Godspeed my Friend.

Paul was my brother and now one of my guardian angels. He was the greatest man I know and was always the "Wind Beneath My Wings". I can't say how much I will miss him because he will forever be a part of me and always seen the good in people no matter who you were and where you came from. Paul never forgot where he came from and never met a stranger. He was loved by so many and will forever be missed. To his wife Betty and his children Teah and Matthew he will always be with us and we will never forget the faith he instilled in us with the love he gave us and the courage to make our lives better. I love you my big brother and I will miss you so much. Paul was a fighter and he fought this ugly disease for a long time and never once complained and would always say to me when I returned home from Iraq on my R & R's "we made it didn't we". What a guy. Again, I love you.

I went through dental school in Morgantown with Paul. I remember him as a person who always had a smile on his face, and always made others happpy. It makes me so sad to realize that I have not seen him since we graduated 27 years ago.

Mrs. Skeens, I have known Paul, as well as the rest of his family my entire life and have always thought a lot of all of them. If you remember, I met you at the Greenbrier Hotel while you were a part of a 3 day golf school and enjoyed the time we spent talking and smacking the ball around on the Meadows course. Even though I have known Paul since I was a child I did not know that he was a fellow Mason, or that he was so active in lodge, until I read his obituary. I guess that's something we Masons don't talk about all that much unfortunately. I wish I would have known about his death sooner so I could pay final respects at his funeral. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss and please know that you and all of the Skeens' will always have friends and family in Renick. With love, Scott

Dear Betty and family, I wish I had some magic words to take away your pain but I don't. It is hard. We both hope that the laughter and fun that was shared in Paul's life outshine the pain and sorrow that is so very real now.We are thinking of you and missing Paul also. John and Karen

I met Paul for the first time in Renick. I lived beside his mom and Dad. He was always an up beat person and very kind. The last time I saw him was 3 years ago at my brother Davids house. Although he had been battling his sickness he was the same Paul. God never made any better people than the Skeens. May God bless all of you.

Doc has been my dentist for 20+ yrs. I loved him! He was so down to earth and funny. He made going to the dentist feel like you were sitting in your family room---and he provided the comedy! I was happy to know him--see you in heaven Doc!

Dear Skeens Family, I am terribly sorry to hear what happened. Mr. Skeens was a great man to be around and he always made everybody else around him in a better mood as well. He was without a doubt one of the nicest and most caring men i have ever been around. He lived life to the fullest and he never took anything for granted. He taught us all a good lesson just by living the way he did. He will be greatly lost and always in my heart and prayers. -Brad

We met Doc Skeens when my mom babysat Matthew as a toddler, after that he was our dentist growing up. I remember him saving my two front teeth after i knocked them out in 8th grade and then he crowned them years later only for me to knock one out again, but he was there to make sure i didn't have to go out in public missing one front tooth. He was always so happy and didn't deserve to get sick the way he did. Although I hadn't seen him for years, I am very sad for his passing. May God Bless his family always.

The Skeens Family I thought the world of Doc, he was my dentist for 15 years. He could always bring a smile to my face no matter what kind of day I was having. I had more fun visiting my dentist than going to an Amusement park. He was a great man that has touched a lot of people's hearts. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this sad time. I will remember him fondly. Love and Prayers, Tina, Kesha and JD.

Betty, Matt, and family.. I am soo sorry for what you all are going through. Paul was such a remarkable man. He always had a smile on his face since we were little kids. The funniest things I remember about him is that he let me come over to your house and get away with the things my parents wouldn't let me! When we were in middle school he offered me free dental care to get Matt a girlfriend!!! I loved Paul and your family and I will greatly miss him. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. If there is anything at all you need please let us know.

My Uncle Paul was one of the most caring and loved man I know. He was always there for me when I needed him. He treated my disabled kids as if they were his own and made them feel special, loved, and one of the most important people in his life. As for my oldest, who is smarter then a tack, he always gave her confidence, told her how proud of her he was especially when she told him she was going under pharmicutical. He was a special guy and I miss my Uncle Paul soo much. I love you Uncle Paul and to the family. I love you all and you will forever be in my heart and mind.
