Ruth  VillarsMrs. Ruth Horn Villars, 88, left to be with her Lord and to be reunited with her late husband William D. Villars for their 69th wedding anniversary. Ruth was the youngest of four children born in Martin County, KY, March 16th, 1921. Ruth was a devoted homemaker, a dedicated member of Kellogg Independent Holiness Church of God and a member of the Ladies Prayer Band since the 1950s. Ruth lived for God and loved her family, friends, reading, flowers, birds and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sarah Chaffin Horn, one sister Ruby Hoskins, two brothers, Hezekiah and Homer Horn and her son David Lee Villars, Sr. Ruth is survived by one son Russell William Villars of Huntington, two honorary daughters, Glenda Sowards of Huntington, Mila McCleary of South Point, Ohio, two grand children April Villars-Smith, wife of John Smith of Gibsonville, North Carolina and David Lee Villars, Jr. husband of Thea Villars of Huntington; one foster son John David Vaughn of Princeton, WV; two honorary grandchildren Ruth and Patrick McCleary of South Point, Ohio; three nieces Linda Nichols, Loretta Forth of Columbus, Ohio, Helen Lawson of Huntington; two nephews Randy Hoskins of Brunswick, Georgia and Homer Lee Horn, Jr. and her cat, Lizzy. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at the Kellogg Independent Holiness Church of God by Pastor Roger Mooney. She will be laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home. The family would especially like to thank Cabell Huntington Hospitals five North Nurses and Dr. Sabhash Kumar for their excellent care. Ruth will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Condolences may be made to the family at www.timeformemory.com/reger.
