Willia M. Blankenship, 68, of Huntington,WV, idow of Samuel Blankenship,passed away Monday, October 5, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Thursday October 8, 2009 at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bill Blankenship. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery, Blaine, Ky. She was born on December 2, 1940 in Wayne County, Wv the daughter of the late Walter and Lucille Wheeler Thompson. She was a loving mother that enjoyed puzzles and her two dogs, Sniffles and Jack, and was an avid bowler and camper. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Doug Blankenship, a sister, Phyllis Vincent, and a great aunt Nola Abrams.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law: Mitchell and Shanna Blankenship of Huntington and Pete Moore of Ohio. two daughters and sons in law: Becky and Brad Tressler of Ashland, KY., and samantha and Mark Ash of Huntington; five grandchildren: Chris Hatten adn his wife Donna, Samuel Ash, Candis Blankenship, Alexis Moore and Brandy Moore; a great grandson, Trey Blankenship; a special niece, Sue venoy and a special friend, Noah Salyers. friends may call from 1 pm Thursday until service time at the Reger Funeral Home.
