1928 - 2009
 Norman E. Red Noble, 81, of Huntington, W. Va. passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Temple Church by Pastor Chuck Lawrence. Burial will be in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. He was born January 11, 1928, the only child of the late Virginia Wary Adams Noble and Lawrence A. Noble. He was graduate of Huntington High School. He served in the Pacific with the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946, during WWII and with the United States Air Force from 1947 to 1951. He was a former employee of Owens-Illinois Glass Company, for one year and during his 31 years on the Huntington Police Department he was an acting police chief, deputy police chief and commanded all three bureaus patrol, detective and administrative, having retired in August 1986. He was a member of the 32nd Degree Masons, Crescent Lodge #32, AF&AM Ceredo, American Legion Post 16 of Huntington, the Fraternal Order of Police and a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Florence J. Goolsby Noble; one daughter, Veisa Noble Simenson {husband Todd} of Colorado Springs, Co., two sons, Norman E. Eddie Noble, Jr. {wife Stacy} of Little Rock, Ar. and John E. Noble {wife Sherri} of Huntington; 4 grandchildren, Dustin Noble, Shelley Carpenter, Misty Riddle and Tara Hensley and 7 great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6: 00 to 8:00pm Monday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. The Veterans Honor Guard of Huntington will conduct graveside military rites.

So sorry to hear of the passing of "Red". My dad and "Red" were police officers together. I met him at a very young age and then ending up going to school with his kids. My heartfelt sympathy to the family. God bless you all.

TO the family, Red was such a nice person, always very friendly. My dad introduced me to him, when we moved on Greenbrier Drive. Always a nice person, I'll be thinking of you all.
