Floyd Jiggs Rider Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1923 - 2010 Mr. Floyd J. Jiggs Rider, 86, of Wayne, WV passed away Sunday January 31, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. At his passing her was surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Thursday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Fred Ferguson and Rick Perdue. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born March 16, 1923 in Winda, Georgia, a son of the late James Floyd and Ina Missouri Garner Rider. He was a former employee with Houdaille Industries. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Martha Boyd Rider; three brothers Cephas J. Rider, Clarence M. Rider and William H. Rider; and four sisters C. B. Brantley, Josephine Owens, Cynthia E. Scott and Johnnie Belle West. Survivors include a special daughter Martha Ann Fry, who was reared by Floyd and his wife Martha, and her family whom he adopted and loved as his own, her son Jeffrey Fry and his wife Tonia and their children Ben and Emily Fry and her daughter Jill Parsons and her husband Danny and their children Jacey, Rileigh and Baylee Parsons and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home.

Great Uncle Jiggs, you earned your wings the day you were born. Although I only met you a few times during my life time and the last time was during the 80's when the all the brothers and sisters were together at the Scott/Rider Reunion when I baked the huge family tree cake, I will always remember your kind smile and gentle manner. You sir were a wonderful human being. Please give our love to all of your brothers and sisters, and my Grandma Molly in heaven.
