1934 - 2010
 RAYMOND E. "RIP" DEBORD JR., 76, of Barboursville, W.Va., went home to be with his Lord on Sept. 4, 2010, after fighting a long hard battle with his health. Rip retired from Owens-Illinois in 1988. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with both the Army and Navy. Rip was one of four children from Huntington, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Ellen Hartman DeBord; his father and mother, Raymond DeBord Sr. and Elizabeth Urban DeBord; two sisters, Ursula DeBord and Oma Jane Davis; and one brother, David DeBord. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sheena Mayo DeBord; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Raymond A. DeBord of Kenova, W.Va., and Guy and Lisa DeBord of Milton, W.Va.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Renee and Ike Johnson of Huntington, Lisa Riley of Woodward, Okla., and Leslee and John Hill of Daytona Beach, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a dear close brother-in-law, Harold "Rabbit" Davis; and scores of nieces, nephews, close friends and relatives. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bob Ray. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, W.Va. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Home. American Legion Post 93 of Kenova will conduct military graveside rites. Renee, Raymond, Lisa I just found out about your father. I just wanted to you to know my thoughts are with all of you at this time. I was your neighbor in in 1965 & 1966 and our parents were really good friends.

I am visiting my Sister and Mother in Fl. when Farley called and told me about Rips passing and I am sorry I cannot be there ,I have wonderful memories of sitting on the front porch decussing the worlds problems and trying to solve them all knowing we could not but. he was a great friend and next door neighbor for 30yrs. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends...... Love to All Pamela and Farley Jr.

Our hearts are heavy that we can not be there with the family for the final farewell to Uncle Raymond.He will always be in our memory as a loving uncle. He was always laughing and making those around him happy, my (Elizabeth) mother ,Ursula adored him.
