1928 - 2010
 Emory F. Thacker, 82, of Huntington, devoted husband and father, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a long illness. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 60 years Janet Joyce Thacker, two beloved sons Mark Steven Thacker and his wife Mary Thacker and John Marty Thacker, two beloved grandchildren Steven Jeffrey Thacker and Traci Lauren Thacker. He was the loving son of John Emory Thacker and Jeanette Nette Thacker. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lennie Richardson and Reba Faye Ferguson and one brother Wilber Winston Thacker. Emory served his country in the US Navy during WWII stationed in Adak, Alaska. He was a former master plumber and pipefitter and was a member of Plumber and Steamfitters Local 512 for 50 years. He was a member of Westmoreland Baptist Church. He also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew Vernon Howell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Reger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Dr. C.J. Adkins. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. God received a precious gift on the day we celebrate the birth of his son. Emory will be greatly missed. The Veterans Honor Guard of Huntington will conduct military graveside rites. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.timeformemory.com/reger.

Aunt Janet, Mark and Marty,
I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Emory's passing. I had no idea!!! I would have loved to have celebrated his life with you. You all were such a great support to our family!
