 GREGORY DALE MAYO, 53, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Trinity Church of God, Huntington, of which he was a member, by Rev. Ken Toler. Burial will be at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Greg was born May 30, 1957, in Cabell County, West Virginia, a son of Phyllis Cook Mayo of Proctorville, Ohio and the late James Edward Mayo. Greg was a 1975 graduate of Fairland High School, was an avid Marshall fan and loved to golf. One of his joys in life was to cook for everyone. Greg had a big heart, loved his family and was willing to help in any way. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Donita Watts Mayo. In addition to his mother, survivors include two brothers, James Allen Mayo and Dennis Mayo, both of Huntington; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pamela Mayo of Huntington and Beverly and John Davis of Proctorville, Ohio; eight nieces and nephews and their spouses, Christina and Jason Eaches, Ryan Mayo, Whitney Mayo, James Bradley and DeeAnna Mayo, Britney Mayo and her fiancé Chris Elswick, Jeffrey Simpson, Jessie Simpson and Joshua Davis and his fiancée Andrea Adkins; eight great-nieces and nephews, Cameron, Chloe, Lyric, Braelyn, Kayden, Amboree, Ian and Mia. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at the Reger Funeral Home, and after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. To the Mayo family I am sorry i could not attend the viewing or the funeral i kept thinking i wanted to remember Greg the last time i saw him at his moms house two days before Christmas. When he fix me breakfast with a smile on his face before he left the house he said "see you later kid". I will always miss him he is in my heart and now he is in heavin with his dad.

So sorry to hear of Greg's passing. I knew Greg when he was married to Donita and he was such a wonderful and caring person. May God give you strength and love through this very sad and hard time. God Bless
