Ruth Eleanor Thomas, 82, of Sidney, formerly of Bellefontaine, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at the Fair Haven Shelby County Home, Sidney.
Born March 27, 1921, in Quincy, she was a daughter of the late Roy L. and Fern Frantz Keesecker.
On Sept. 3, 1937, she married Forest Delmar Thomas in Richmond, Ind., and he preceded her in death March 3, 1994.
She had worked as an assembler at Siemens Energy and Automation in Bellefontaine and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy L. (Richard) McLain of Sidney and Patsy C. (Ed) Kennedy of Sidney; two sons, Charles L. Thomas of Vicco, Ky. and Fred D. (Vicki) Thomas of Bellefontaine; one sister, Marjorie Wish of Bellefontaine; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, one sister, Elizabeth Glett, and one brother, Melvin Keesecker.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Brian Kramer officiates and burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
The family suggestes memorial contributions be made to Fair Haven Shelby County Home in Sidney.
