Robert Lee Burgess Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1935 - 2004 Robert Lee Burgess, 68, of Quincy, died at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2004 in his home. He was born June 28, 1935 in Whitesville, WV, a son of the late David Burgess and Martha Estep Whittington and step father John Whittington I. On October 11, 1956, he married M. Jewel Compton in South Side, WV and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Julie Renee (David) Broadus of Sidney; two gradnchildren; a half brother, John Whittington II of South Side, WV; three half sister, Alma (Richard) Jeffries of South Side WV, Louise Boggs and Alice Lane. He was a self employed truck driver and a member of the New Richland Baptist church. The family will receive friends at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff on Tuesday, June 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. The body will then be cremated and the ashes intered in Fairview Cemetery in Quincy. Memorial contributions may be made in his name at the Citizens Bank of DeGraff.
