John Samuel Stiltner, 68, of Quincy, died at 10:55 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2004 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
Born in Johns Creek, Pike County, Ky., he was a son of the late Jonah Stiltner and Ruby Riddell Stiltner, who survives in Bellefontaine.
A U.S. Army veteran, he worked for the Quincy Street Maintenance Department and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Also surviving are three sons, John E. Stiltner of Iowa, Jason Stiltner of Missouri and Joseph Stiltner of Florida; five daughters, Lara Kurts of Florida, Sherry Pickett and Mary (Troy) Norton, both of Missouri, Jenny Lynn Stiltner of Florida and Melissa (John) Calloway of Illinois; 19 grandchildren; three brothers, William L.(Jean) Stiltner of Portsmouth and Willard H. (Brenda) Stiltner and Elmer T. (Treva) Stiltner, both of Bellefontaine; and three sisters, Jean (Wilkie) Scott of Bellefontaine, Golda (Jack) Scott of DeGraff and Bonnie (Floyd) Church of Port Washington, Wisconsin
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary M. Stiltner.
Pastors John Winchester and Curt Spradlin will officiate at services on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff, where calling hours begin two hours before. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Quincy, with military honors provided by the Logan County Honor Guard.
