Lewis Junior Pulfer, 80, of Quincy, died at 11:52 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at his residence.
He was born in Quincy on Feb. 11, 1924, a son of the late Lewis P. Sr. and Ethel Walcott Pulfer. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Irene Pulfer; two brothers, Russell and Roger Pulfer; and a sister Eileen Wolfe.
On Oct. 20, 1946, he married the former Colleen M. Palmer in Jackson Center and she surivives, along with two sons, Daniel S. Pulfer of Quincy and David Lynn (Janie) Pulfer of Tipp City; daughters, Suzie (Dan) Schindewolf and Becky (Rick) Purtee, both of Quincy, and Cathy Ann (Jon) Pomeroy of Sand Point, Idaho; brothers, Marvin Pulfer of DeGraff and Ralph Pulfer and Willis Pulfer, both of Quincy; sisters, Mary Dinemore of Centerville and Mildred Roesner of Curtis; grandchildren, Chrissy Crowel, Mike Pulfer, Theresa Terry, Stacy Zuhl, Chad Schindewolf, Clint Schindewolf, Casey Schindewolf, Joneen Pomeroy, Jessie Gardner, Brad Purtee, Kyle Pulfer and Shauna Pulfer; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A 1942 graduate of Quincy High School, he was a farmer and owned and operated L.R. Machine Service.
He attended the Quincy United Methodist Church and was a member of the U.S. Border Collie Handlers Association.
The U.S. Army veteran of World War II also was a former member of the Logan Memorial Post 3528 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Quincy.
The Rev. N. Matthew Wright conducts a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Quincy United Methodist Church. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, where the Logan County Honor Guard conducts military honors. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the Ohio Veterans Home.
