Frances Lucile Lytle, 92, of Bellefontaine, died at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, in her home.
She was born in Urbana on May 3, 1912, a daughter of the late Samuel C. and Florence Lackey Clem.
On Dec. 31, 1941, she married Waldo Rodgers Lytle in Kingscreek, and he died Oct. 1, 1959. She also was preceded in death by brothers, Melvin Clem and Herbert Clem, and a sister Virginia Tullis.
Survivors include daughters, Nancy (Harold) Dowden of West Liberty, Janet (Robert) Detrick of Bellefontaine and Vivian (Jerry) Beatty of DeGraff; seven grandchildren, Karen (Michael) Walters of Bowling Green, Cheryl (Curtis) Brandt of Lewistown, Marilyn (Eric) Esh and Mark (Lori) Dowden, both of West Liberty, Sheila Dowden of Urbana and Kevin Beatty and Eric Beatty, both of DeGraff; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Pat Clem of West Liberty and Helen Kuntzman of Florida.
A homemaker and Salem High School graduate, she attended the United Methodist churches in Bellefontaine and DeGraff and was a member of the Rum Creek United Methodist Church. She also was active in the United Methodist Women at the Rum Creek and Bellefontaine churches.
She was a member of Pleasant Grandge 2124 in DeGraff, Logan County Pomona Grange 3, as well as Logan White Shrine for which she served as treasurer for 25 years. She also was a member of the Bellefontaine Chapter 459 Order of Eastern Star and the Mizpah Circle of Kings's Daughters in Bellefontaine and was a former member of the Logan County Agrarian Club.
She enjoyed attending her gradnchildren's music programs and sporting events.
The Rev. Terry G. Washburn conducts a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff, where friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tricare Hospice, Riverside Emergency Medical Squad in DeGraff and the West Liberty EMS in West Liberty.
