1918 - 2005

Jennie Francene Neese, 86, of Conover, died at 9:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.

She was born in Champaign County on July 18, 1918, a duaghter of the late Nicholas Adam and Marie Antoinette Speece Baker. She also was preceded in death by a son, James Russell Neese; and four brothers, Robert Baker, Vernon "Ben" Baker, Carl "Dutch" Baker and John Baker.

On Oct. 3, 1936, she married Cyril Russell Neese in Rosewood and he died on Oct. 12, 2001.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith (Joe) Meyer of St. Marys; eight grandchildren, Julie Kishler, Laurie Amato and Beth (Dan) Noneman, all of St. Marys, Nick (Tami) Meyer and Lezlie (Kevin) Fitch, both of St. Paris, Susan (Joseph) Scott of New Carlisle, Carla (Steve) Weeks of Dear Creek, Ill., Heather (Matthew) Allen of DeGraff; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Rosewood United Methodist Church and worked a the Miami Valley Bank in Quincy for many years. She was a 1936 graduate of Adams Township High School in Rosewood.

The Rev. Floyd Lundy conducts a private graveside service in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rosewood Fire Department.
