Kenneth W. Gump, 84, of DeGraff, died at 11:02 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Born July 18, 1920, in DeGraff, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Ethel Coover Gump.
On Oct. 10, 1940 he married Lorna C. Fisher in Paris, KY., and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Sheryl (David) Regula fo Maplewood and Nancy (Ron) Hall and Rhonda (Dan) Goings, both of DeGraff; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey (Lisa) Wren of Perry, Brad (Beverley) Wren of Jackson Center, Tawni (Chris) Sargent of Bellefontaine, and Lori (Steve) Meade, Stacy (Matt) Larmee, Kathleen (Mike) Ropp and Josh Goings, all of DeGraff, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Chris Hall.
He retired from Faulkner Vault Company after 47 years. He served on the DeGraff Fire Department for 42 years and was fire chief for 17 years. He also worked for the Miami Township Trustees for 20 years.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where the funeral begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. LeRoy Hughes officiating. Burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
The family suggests memorial contribuions be made to the DeGraff Fire Department and the Riverside Emergency Medical Squad.
