Miriam Virginia Strayer, 79, of DeGraff, died at 3:34 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born June 10, 1925, in Logan County, a daughter of the late Harland Robert and Nellie May Shotts Cordrey.
On Oct. 19, 1946, she married Orville Sherman Strayer in Huntsville, and he preceded her in death Nov. 24, 1990.
She is survived by four sons, Russell S. Strayer of Bellefontaine, Michael (Karen) Strayer and Larry (Susan) Strayer, both of DeGraff, and Timothy (Annette) Strayer of Sealey, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn Garver of Arcanum; one sister, Katherine Tallman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
One brother, Ronald Robert Cordrey, is deceased.
A homemaker, she was a member of Springhills Presbyterian Church and was a 1943 graduate of Huntsville High School.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where the funeral begins at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Randy Terry officiating. Burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
