
Homer L. Miller, 87, formerly of Shelby and Logan Counties, OH died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at the home of his daughter, Grace Fries in Line Lexington, PA.
Born Monday, March 18, 1918, in Pemberton, OH, a son of the late Raymond N. and Zona Maude Archer Miller.
On September 21, 1940, he married Almira G. Hughes in Jackson Center, OH and she died February 10, 2003. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Miller and a sister, Freda Loftus.
He is survived by two daughters, Grace (Bob) Fries of Line Lexington, PA and Rebecca (Bill) Wilber of West Jacksonville, FL; 4 grand children and 7 great grand-children.
Mr Miller was a retired farmer and welder. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1936 and attended Hobart Welding School in Troy, OH. He warked at Perless Bread Machine fror 6 years before founding Miller's Welding Shop in Bloom Center, OH, where he and his wife, Almira, lived for many years. In 1969 he founded Logan Fabricators, manufacturers of burial vault trailers.
He retired in 1980 and moved to Sidney, where he and his wife spent their summers. They lived part of the year from 1980 to 1995 in New Port Richey, FL, where he was a member of the Retreads Motorcycle Club. Riding his motorcycle was one of his favorite pastimes.
He was a member of Rum Creek United Methodist Church and a member of the Logan County Co-Op Power and Light Board of Directors for 30 years, having served as chairman from 1977 to 1980.
The family will receive friends at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff on Monday, April 25, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at the Rum Creek United Methodist Church, With Rev. Seung Lee officiating. Burial is in the Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco, OH.
The family suggests memorial contribution be made to the Rum Creek United Methodist Church.
