Roger Emerson Harbour Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1926 - 2005

Roger Emerson Harbour, 78, of DeGraff, died at 4:35 p.m. Wedensday, June 1, 2005, in his residence.

He was born in Champaign County on July 26, 1926, a son of the late Clarence Russell Harbour and Mildred Irene Buroker.

On Dec. 29, 1948, he married Donna June Easton in DeGraff and she preceded him in death May 15, 2003. A son James Russell Harbour, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons, Rick (Bev) Harbour of Quincy and Lee (Sara) Harbour of DeGraff; daughter, Joyce (Greg) Ball of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A 1944 graduate of Rosewood High School, he was a U.S. Army sergeant during World War II and retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 7, Sidney, where he worked as an electrician.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 652 and the DeGraff Fire Department for many years. He also enjoyed wood-working in his garage.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff, where the Rev. James Roby conducts a funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverside EMS, DeGraff Fire Dept. and Tricare Hospice.
