Marguerite A. "Maggie" Comer, 85, of DeGraff, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at the OSU Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born Aug. 23, 1919, in Quincy, a daughter of the late Raymond Edgar and Hazel Mae Stottlemeyer Black.
She married Leland Leroy "Dawes" Comer in DeGraff on Nov. 7, 1945, and he preceded her in death Feb. 22, 1982.
Also preceding her in death were two sister, Marie Comer and Anita Lane.
Survivors include one son, Gary (Brenda) Comer of DeGraff; one daughter, Gloria Dearwester of DeGraff; four sisters, Dorothy (Charles) Roby and Pearl Bertolet, both of DeGraff, Lucy (John) Roby of Quincy, and Hazel (Howard) Crouch of Huntingdon, Pa.; four grandchildren, Gary L. (Kristi) Comer Jr. of Bellefontaine, Sandra (Dwyane) Horsley of West Liberty, Tiana (Corey) Whitaker and Sean (Jennifer) Dearwester both of DeGraff; and eight great-grandchildren.
A 1937 graduate of Quincy High School and a graduate of Englands Beauty School in Lima, she was a beautician for 35 years. She was a member of the Rikmah Club, senior citizens, hospital guild, and the former Logan Memorial VFW Auxiliary. A volunteer for the Heart Fund, she also was a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church since 1945 and its women's organization and Semper Fidelis Sunday School class.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where the funeral begins at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Julia L. Ronngren officiating. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Riverside EMS and the DeGraff United Methodist Church.
