Charles Herbert Leese Sr., 78, a resident of Fair Haven in Disney, formerly of Quincy, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, in Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, following a three-year-illness.
He was born in Somerset, Ky., on May 27, 1927, a son of the late Samuel and Lula Prather Leese.
On Feb. 4, 1950, he married the fromer June Opal Trimble in Somerset, and she died Aug. 18, 1991. He also was preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Luther Leese; and sisters, Ada Jasper, Myrtle Hudson, Lucille Leese and Dean Leese.
Survivors include a son, Chuck H. (Kathy) Leese of Quincy; two daughters, Phyllis (Lee) Eaton and Sandra K. (Tim) Ungericht, both of Quincy; brothers, John F. Leese of Sidney and Henry Leese of Somerset; grandchildren, Steven (Christy) Eaton of Bellefontaine, and Kevin Eaton, Allison Leese and Amanda Leese, all of Quincy; and one great-grandson.
A member of Sardis Methodist Church in Nancy, Ky., he was retired from Con Met in Sidney.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a former member of Logan Memorial VFW Post 3528, Quincy.
The Rev. Julia Ronngren conducts a funeral at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial is in Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco.
