1920 - 2005

Ralph G. Sutton, 85, fo Bellefontaine, formerly of Quincy, died at 11:03 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.

He was born in Garrad County, Ky., on Nov. 2, 1920, a son of the late Butler and Eliza Jane Smith Sutton.

On March 1, 1944, he married the former Frances L. Bell in Port Jefferson and she survives, along with a daughter, Karen (George) Verner of Hudson; daughter-in-law, Diane Sutton of Bellefonaine; four grandchildren, Brian (Joyce) Sutton of Tipp City, Cheri Sutton of Bellefontaine, Erin (Kevin) O'Boyle of Chicago and Ryan Verner of Hudson; and one great-grandchild.

Preceding him in death were brothers, Lewis, James and Jack Sutton; a son, Keith Sutton; and sisters, Lula Gardner and Ruth Sutton.

A farmer and graduate of Perry Township High school in Pemberton, he was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran during World War II.

The Rev. Barry Baughman conducts a funeral at noon on Wednesday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff where calling is from 10:30 until the time of the service. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Quincy.

Memorial contirbutions may be made to Tricare Hospice.
