Rachel Anne Oaks, 82, of DeGraff, died at 10:09 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Fredericktown, Mo., a daughter of the late George Hiram and Jeffie Albenna Limbaugh Hovis.
A 1942 graduate of Jackson Center High School and a homemaker, she was a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church and Logan Piecemakers Quilting Club.
She married Paul Morris Oaks on June 7, 1942, in Jackson Center, and he preceded her in death June 16, 2004.
Also deceased are two brothers, William Hovis and J.L. Hovis; and three sisters, Cassell Fries, Fern Fries and Mary Lou Shultz.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald M. Oaks and Steven M. (Rebecca) Oaks, bothe of Bellefontaine; three daughtes, Paula McFarlin of DeGraff, Brenda (Daniel) Wray of Denver and Theodora (Glenn) Oaks-Clark of Las Vegas; one brother, George Neil (Chris) Hovis of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandhcildren.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at the DeGraff United Methodist Church with the Rev. Julia L. Ronngren officiating.
