Hubert L. Kauffman, 85, of Bellefontaine, died at 8:04 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at Mary Rutan Hosptial.
Born October 6, 1920 in Kingscreek, he was a son of the late Ray and Sara V. Stuart Kauffman.
On September 14, 1947, he married M. Grace Beatty in Bellefontaine, and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Beverly (Robert) Stanfield of Rushsylvania; one sister, Joan Easton of DeGraff; two grandsons, Scott (Diana) Stanfield and Charles Stanfield, both of Rushsylvania; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Kauffman and Kenneth Kauffman; and two sisters, Elaine Corwin and Doris Guthrie.
A 1940 gradaute of Salem High School, he was a World War II Army veteran.
He was an active member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine and was a member of Miami Grange and later Harrison Grange for more than 25 yrs. He also was a member of the Scotty Camping Club.
He farmed for a nubmer of years, worked as a repairman at Rockwell International for 10 years and also drove a gas truck for Gillespie Oil Company for a number of years.
The family receives friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where Pastor Kenneth Hulls conducts the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burail is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff, with military honors conducted by the Logan County Honor Guard.
