Floyd Therman Harpest

Floyd Therman Harpest, 82, of DeGraff, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.

He was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Logan County, a son of the late Samuel and Mildred Cummins Harpest. He married Huldah Mae Cox on Sept. 22, 1945, in Covington, Ky., and she survives along with two sons, Timothy K. (Sharon) Harpest of Bellefontaine and Samuel (Annette) Harpest of DeGraff; one daughter, Barbara (Ron) Murray of DeGraff; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and three sisters, Vernis Krites of Wapakoneta, Carol Roberts of Texas and Sharon (Richard) Holley of Windsor.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, his twin Lloyd Harpest, Berdean Harpest and Verlin Harpest.

A farmer, he also worked at the former Westinghouse Corporation in Bellefontaine and Copeland Corporation in Sidney. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where the funeral begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. James Roby officiating. Burial is in the Huntsville Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Logan County Honor Guard. Condolences may be expressed at www.timeformemory.com/madden.
