Roy Wilson Engelhaupt, 90, of Quincy, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Heartland of Urbana.
Born on March 31, 1916, in Shelby County, he was a son of Harry Edward and Katherine Kies Engelhaupt.
A farmer and 1935 graduate of Quincy High School, he was a member of Rosewood United Methodist Church and the Champaign County Farm Bureau and was a former Grange member.
He married Mary C. Persinger on Feb. 19, 1940, in Adams Township, Champaign County, and she survives, along with a son, Robert L. Engelhaupt of Quincy; a brother, Don (Ruth) Engelhaupt of Quincy; sisters, Mary Jane Bailar of Rosewood, Betty (Paul) Jones of Brooksville, Fla., and Shirley (Jerry) Gibbs of Sidney.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Engelhaupt, a sister, Wilma Harlander and his stepmother, Carrie A. Helmlinger Engelhaupt.
The funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. today. T
he Rev. Beverly Avers officiates and burial is in Cedar Point Cemetery near Pasco.
