Vivian Rose Rufus, 79, of Bellefontaine, and formerly of DeGraff, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Berea, Ky., a daughter of the late Everette and Risse Oliver Denlinger. On June 16, 1946, she married Richard E. Rufus in Covington, Ky., and he died Aug. 21, 1987.
She also was preceded in death by sons, Jerry Rufus and Gary Rufus and an infant son.
Survivors include a son, Jack L. Rufus of Bellefontaine; two brothers, Karl E. Denlinger of Taylor, Mich., Everett E. Denlinger of Washington, D.C., and James (Pat) Denlinger of Bellefontaine; sister, Marilyn Joy Gale of Farmington, Maine; grandchildren, Jack Rufus Jr. of San Diego, Melissa Rufus and Trinity Rufus, both of Bellefontaine, and Israel Rufus and Justin Rufus, both of Tipp City; and four great-grandchildren.
A homemaker and former member of the DeGraff Baptist Church, she was a 1946 graduate of DeGraff High School.
The Rev. Jerry Allen conducts a funeral at 2 p.m. Monday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where calling is one hour prior. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
