
Rev. Alwin Dayton Ingalls, 72, of Quincy, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at his home.
Born Sept. 9, 1933, in Roulette, Pa., he was a son of the late Fred Dayton and Edith Augusta Treat Ingalls. On Feb. 27, 1954, he married Patricia Marilyn Barber in Genesee, Pa., and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons Alwin Eugene Ingalls of Coudersport, Pa. and Frederick Selin (Candiace) Ingalls of Genesee; two daughters, Melanie Jean Ingalls of Wellsville, N.Y., and Megan Renee (Robert) Parker of Newark; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Alanson F. Ingalls; one sister, Altheia M. Dudley; and two grandchildren.
He retired in 1987 from Combustion Engineering Air Preheater in Wellsville, N.Y. In June 2000, he became pastor of the Quincy Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union. He was a member of a men's golf league at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.
The family receives friends from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Quincy Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union, and the funeral follows at 7 p.m. with Dr. James Pallard officiating. Following the service, his body will be cremated and the ashes interred at a later date in the Woodland Cemetery, Coudersport.
