
Vera Lee Helmandollar, 75, of Quincy, died at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at her home.
She was born June 21, 1931, in Quincy, a daughter of the late William James and Lillian J. Crumby Douglas. On Sept. 23, 1950, she married Roy Ottis Helmandollar Jr. in Quincy, and he died Nov. 26, 2004.
Survivors include, five sons, Steven Lee Helmandollar, Kirk E. (Debbie) Helmandollar, both of Quincy, Keith Douglas Helmandollar of Minster, Robin Shane Helmandollar of Columbus, and Kim Jon (Teresa) Helmandollar of Piqua; one brother, Howard (Quin) Douglas of Colleyville, Texas; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Lee Helmandollar; three brothers, Charles Douglas, Gene Douglas, Ralph Douglas; and one sister, Vivian Stabler.
A 1949 graduate of Quincy High School, she was a homemaker and attended the Quincy Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union. She also was a member of the Quincy Homemakers Club.
For several years, she served as an emergency medical technician for the Quincy-Miami Township Rescue Squad and worked at the Miami Valley Bank in Quincy. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and scrapbooking.
The family will receive friends at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Following cremation, graveside services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery, Quincy, with Chaplain Philip K. Chilcote officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Quincy-Miami Township Rescue Squad.
