Marvin Richard Pulfer, 75, of DeGraff, died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus.
Born Saturday, June 27, 1931, in Bellefontaine, he was a son of the late Lewis P. and Ethel Walcott Pulfer Sr. On July 4, 1948, he married Phyllis J. Schwartz in Jackson Center and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Karen Stevens of Westerville and Linda (Delmar) Zeigler of Alger; one son, Edward (Debra) Pulfer of Belle Center; one brother, Willis (Sue) Pulfer of Maplewood; two sisters, Mary Dinsmore of Dayton and Mildred Roesner of Toledo; eight grandchildren, Sheri Lombardi, Jason Zeigler, Lori Zeigler, Chad Pulfer, Brad Pulfer, Melissa Pulfer, Charles J. Stevens II and Charlene Stevens; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one foster son, Stephen Hatcher; four brothers, Ralph Pulfer, Russell Pulfer, Roger Pulfer and Lewis Junior Pulfer; and one sister, Eileen Wolfe.
A farmer and member of the Pleasant Grange 2124 for 57 years, he also was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center. He worked as a machine repairman at Delphi in Dayton and Vandalia. He was an all-around handyman. He enjoyed people, camping, traveling and tractor pulls.
The family receives friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where the funeral begins at 11 a.m. Saturday. Pastors Kieran Darcy and R. Scott Johnson officiate and burial is in the Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, Jackson Center.
