Helen Kent, 89, of Bellefontaine, died at about 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at her home.
She was born Thursday, May 25, 1917, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late William and Ella Burke Branham. On May 23, 1947, she married George Kent, and he died in 1969.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Edith Clepper of California; and a niece, Ella (Scott) Wisniewski of Bellefontaine, whom she raised. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Branham.
She was a retired one-room school teacher and member of the DeGraff Freewill Baptist Church.
Calling is Friday from 5 p.m. until the funeral service at 7 p.m. at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff. The Rev. James Roby officiates. Burial is in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore, Ky., at 2 p.m. Saturday.
