Eleanor M. Young, 88, of Columbus, died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Heartland of Urbana.
She was born in Belle Center on Dec. 25, 1918, a daughter of the late Harry R. Sr. and Clara Eleanor Herren Manahan. Her husband, Edgar Young, died in 1970.
She also was preceded in death by seven brothers, D. William Manahan, Richard W. Manahan, A. Eugene Manahan, Harry Manahan Jr., Harold O. Manahan, Merle E. Manahan and James Manahan; and three sisters, Phyllis Baker, Joan Johnston and Patricia Stotler.
Survivors include two sisters, Miriam E. Gillenwater of Lakeview and Carol Long of Rosewood; and several nieces and nephews.
A 1937 graduate of DeGraff High School, she graduated from the Community Hospital School of Nursing and was a registered nurse. She enjoyed crafts, quilting and gardening.
The Rev. Floyd Lundy conducts a funeral at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where calling is one hour prior. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
