
Mabel Katherine Clark, 96, of St. Marys, died at 8:35 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Center, St. Marys.
She was born in Lyman County, S.D., on March 21, 1911, a daughter of the late Henry Lawrence and Minnie Elizabeth Wicklund Madden. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Clark, seven brothers, William Madden, Lyman Madden, Glenn Madden, Floyd Madden, Everett Madden, Roy L. Madden and Robert Madden; and three sisters, Grace Buchenroth, Bernice Madden and Hazel Madden.
Survivors include a sister, Doris (Frederick “Mick”) McGowan of Jackson Center; and many nieces and nephews.
A 1929 Monroe High School graduate, she attended Urbana Business College and was a clerical worker for the Department of Motor Vehicles in California, where she resided for more than 60 years. She was an avid shuffleboard player and golfer who enjoyed playing cards, music and traveling.
Her body was cremated according to her wishes. A memorial graveside service begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, in Greenwood- Union Cemetery, DeGraff. Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, handled arrangements.
