James Franklin  StewartJames Franklin Stewart, 85, of Quincy, passed away peacefully at home at 10:25 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2007.

He was born in Quincy on Oct. 7, 1921, a son of the late Lloyd William and Hazel M. Wooley Stewart. On July 8, 1939, he married the former Alleen Heminger in Indiana and she died April 13, 2004. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl N. Stewart and Robert E. Stewart; and a sister, Beatrice Cox.

Survivors include daughters, Sherry Rockfield of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Shelley (Ed) Stevenson of Quincy; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.

A 1939 graduate of Washington High School, he was a heavy equipment operator. Over the years he had worked for the Bellefontaine Development Company, Caffery of Springfield, Holderman of Bellefontaine, Connie & Sons of Columbus and later was self-employed. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and member of the Doyle Miller AMVETS Post 39, Lakeview.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where Pastor Scott Anderson conducts a funeral at 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice in Lima. .

I was thinking of you and Granny again as I often do, and thought I would see of there was still a post out here for you. I miss you so much Pappy!! But still and will always Love you even more!!!

Frank will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Deer Camp will never be the same without Frank; but his memory will always be with every member of the Archer family, each year, during the hunt. The quality of our friend can never be replaced and will never be forgotten.

Shelly & Ed, Sorry to hear about the death of your dad. I know what you are going through. I lost my mom in '95. She just went to sleep and never woke up. My dad in '97 from cancer. I went to Ky and lived with my dad for 2 1/2 years til he passed away. It is not easy to give them up. Just wanted you to know we are thinking of you and your family. Linda
