Agnes Irene Frantz Garver, 98, of Springhills, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Millerstown on May 28, 1909, a daughter of the late Clarence L. and Anna Siegenthaler Frantz. On July 11, 1940, she married Charles C. Garver in Walton, Ky., and he died Feb. 1, 1966.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carroll and Sarah Frantz and Leonard and Clara Frantz; and a sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Bill Harris.
Survivors include a son, Curt (Molly) Garver of Springhills; seven grandchildren, Craig (Casey) Garver, Cynthia (Rob) Dixon, Chuck Garver, Beth Ann (Mark) Collins, Michelle Upton, Jill (Luke) Worrell and Kelly (Shawn) Wilkinson; 15 great-grandchildren; a niece, Libby (Don) Miller; and a nephew, Jim (Ruth) Harris.
In 2006, she was recognized as the oldest living member of Springhills Presbyterian Church, after 82 years of membership. She attended Urbana College and received an associate degree from Bowling Green University.
She was a retired teacher and a 20-year volunteer for the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild. After retirement, she worked 10 years at the School Grocery and Gas Store in Springhills.
A funeral begins at 1 p.m. Monday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where calling is three hours prior. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
