Joseph Millard "Mike" Wren, 82, of Bellefontaine, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Logan Acres.
He was born in Logan County on March 1, 1926, a son of the late Joseph Forrest and Ada Pauline Snyder Wren. He also was preceded in death by an infant son. On March 31, 1954, he married the former Mary Ellen Lantz in Mingo and she died June 12, 1975.
He then married the former Betty L. Knief Clinehens in Bellefontaine on Nov. 5, 1976, and she survives, along with his son, Joseph Norman Wren of Bellefontaine; stepsons, Terry (Lora) Clinehens and Chris Clinehens, both of Jackson Center; and grandchildren, Sarah Clinehens of Jackson Center, and Mark, Todd, Ginger and Chet Clinehens, all of Maplewood.
A 1945 graduate of DeGraff High School, he farmed until his service as a tank driver in the U.S. Army. He worked at AcuSport for nearly 12 years and 31 years at Airstream, where he became an inspector before his retirement.
He loved to fish, hunt and cut wood. He also enjoyed going to the Darke County Fair in Greenville. A donor of more than 10 gallons of blood, he was always ready to help others when needed and was a wonderful husband and good dad and grandpa. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The Revs. Jerry and Bobbi Allen conduct a funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
