Betty Jane Brenner, 83, of DeGraff, died at 11:53 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Sidney on Jan. 4, 1925, a daughter of the late Virgil M. and Christine Sophia Meyer Stephenson.
On Aug. 27, 1948, she married Joseph Earl Brenner in Sidney and he died May 7, 2002. She also was preceded in death by a brother, William V. Stephenson; and a sister, Ruth Ann Rose.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie E. (Mason) Bowman of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.
A 1942 graduate of Quincy High School, she was a homemaker and worked at HK Porter in Bellefontaine for about 20 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Bellefontaine Chapter 459.
A former member of a DeGraff quilting club and the DeGraff Garden Club, she enjoyed sewing, walking, gardening and embroidering.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, with an O.E.S. service to follow, at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where the Rev. Julia Ronngren conducts a funeral at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
