Beverly Sue Johnston, 67, of New Richland, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at her sons residence in DeGraff.
She was born in Columbus on May 25, 1941, a daughter of the late Clarence Grow and Dorothea Mae Hilliard Grow Austin.
In 1963, she married William Johnston in Bellefontaine, and he preceded her in death March 3, 1989. Two sons, Deron W. Johnston and Randall Lee Johnston, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Darrell Johnston of DeGraff and Todd (Theresa) Johnston of Ridgecrest, Calif.; a daughter, Gloria (C. Dan) Grow of DeGraff; four brothers, Denny Grow of Florida, Doug Grow of Urbana, Clarence C. Dan (Gloria) Grow of DeGraff and Dean (Barb) Grow of Springboro; two sisters, Linda Scott of Belle Center and Sandy (Bob) Gregg of Vandalia; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was the owner and operator of the Lamplighter Restaurant in Anna, and Channelight Restaurant and Blackhawk Restaurant, both in Lakeview. She also worked as a waitress at Alcove Restaurant in Sidney and attended DeGraff High School.
The Rev. Dean Grow conducts a funeral at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
