Ellen "Corinne" Clason, 93, of DeGraff, died at 2:10 AM Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Logan Acres.

She was born on February 11, 1916, in Bellefontaine, a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Lola Houx Detwiler.

She married David Louis Clason on June 9, 1936 in Union City, Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1990. Also preceding her in death were brothers Paul, LaVon, Harold, and Dick Detwiler, an infant brother Tommy Detwiler and a sister Margaret Bixler.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy (Dale) Snapp of Bellefontaine, Margaret (Gordon) Graves of New Carlisle; six grandchildren, Cathy (Jerry) Dean of West Carrollton, Ann (Brian) Watts of New Carlisle, Teri Snapp of East Liberty, Tom (Kathy) Snapp of Bellefontaine, Tim (Cindy) Snapp of New Carlisle and Todd Snapp of Bellefontaine; 11 great grandchildren and one step great-grandson; and many other family.

She was a seamstress and avid reader. She enjoyed being a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church where she assisted with many funeral dinners, and belonged to the Semper Fidelis Sunday school class.

She was a member of the Rikmah Club and a volunteer for Logan County as a Poll Worker for several years. She also helped at the Share N Shop Thrift Store in DeGraff when it was in operation.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 6, 2009 Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff, with Rev. Julia L. Ronngren officiating. Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to her church or the Logan Acres Care Facility Aviary.
