Ruby Eva Lee Gamble, 71, of DeGraff, was called home to the Lord at 11:13 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Mary Rutan Hospital.

She was born in Sacramento, Calif., on Jan. 12, 1938, a daughter of the late Jack Easter and Clara Mae Carlton Easter.

On Feb. 7, 1956, she married Max Edward Gamble and he died Jan. 14, 1996. She also was preceded in death by an infant sister, Judy.

A homemaker, she enjoyed her family, reading, gardening, various arts and crafts, volunteering, and going to the YMCA.

She was an active member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church, the Chatty Hatties Red Hat Club, sang with the Millennium Melodears Chorus, was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and volunteered for the OhioReads Program.

Survivors include daughters, Kathy (Dale) Madden of Sidney and Peggy (Paul) Butkovich of Urbana; sons, Max (Connie) Gamble of Bellefontaine and Steve (Kathy) Gamble of Ada; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Lewis Easter of Sacramento; and many nieces and nephews.

Pastor Cheryl Siegenthaler conducts a funeral at 10 a.m. Monday at Philadelphia Lutheran Church, DeGraff. Interment is in Philadelphia Cemetery, DeGraff. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church, Riverside EMS and any charities of the donors choices.

So sorry for your loss. She had talked about coming to Idaho a couple of years ago and wish she could have. Although I had not seen her for years will always have fond memories of our family time together when we were young. My thoughts are with you. Delores Carlton Brewerton
