Marilyn Virginia Carey, 70, of Quincy, died at 11:55 PM Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
She was born on January 15, 1939, in Maplewood, Ohio, a daughter of the late Forest Laurel and Helen Francis Chester Lump. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; 3 brothers, Forest Lump Jr, Robert Eugene Lump and Ralph Emerson Lump; 4 grandchildren and a sister-in-law.
Survivors include three daughters, Darlene (David) Brussell of Minster, Debora (Steve) Defibaugh of Portland, IN and Karen (Daniel) Scott of DeGraff; a step son, Harry William Carey; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, four sisters; Ruth Keuterman of DeGraff, Kay (Gary) Baker of Minster, Mary (Art) Holscher of Sidney and Linda (Harold "Butch") Marvin of Minster; sister-in law, Rowena Lump of DeGraff and longtime friend Michael Carey.
She worked for Copeland Corp. in Sidney, and had retired from Honda Manufacturing's Anna Engine plant. She drove a semi for Southwest Motor Freight for several years.
She was a member of the Full Gospel Community Church in Sidney and also attended the Rumley Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and Bible Studies.
Pastor Charles Jarrett conducts a funeral at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2009 Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009.
Burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Riverside EMS.
