Mary Elizabeth 'Lib' Hanks Click for Condolences      Printable Version

Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Hanks, 87, of DeGraff, died at 11:54 PM Monday, November 23, 2009, at Mary Rutan Hospital.

She was born in Logan County on November 25, 1921, a daughter of Loren Emmett and Helen E. Huber Williamson

On June 3, 1941, she married Harold William Hanks in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1989.

She is survived by daughters, Connie Hanks and Shirley (James) King both of Bellefontaine; sisters, Martha Bodenmiller of DeGraff and Eileen Leidinger of Bellefontaine and a very dear friend, Corky Shepler of Bellefontaine.

She was a homemaker, and seamstress having worked for Huber Buchenroth, also doing alterations for others. A member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church, and 1941 DeGraff High School graduate. She was a member of the Ritkma Club and Logan County election poll worker for several years.

Calling hours will be on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff where services will be held with Rev. Carolyn J. Christman officiating on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11 a.m.. Burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff OH

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to DeGraff United Methodist Church, The Ohio Parkinson's Assoc. and the Logan County Humane Society

To the family of Lib Hanks: We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of Lib, who was a dear friend and neighbor to us for many years in DeGraff. Connie, Shirley, Eileen and Martha - you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will miss those wonderful rolls Lib made for us yearly at Thanksgiving, and we are sure the heavens above will love them.
