
Paul F. "Bear" Dieringer, 81, of Raymond, formerly of DeGraff and Huntsville, died Sunday, December 27, 2009.
He was born in Wapakoneta, on August 4, 1928, the youngest son of the late Albert and Mamie Dieringer. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Sherman and brothers, Franklin, Albert and Bernard.
On November 23, 1946, he married Mary Ellen Perkins, who preceded him in death August 10, 2009. He is survived by four daughters, Paula (Larry) Eastman of Raymond, Cynthia Fogle of Dora, Alabama, Monica (Tony) Yelton of Huntsville and Molly Jo (Chris) Brown of Bellefontaine; two brothers, LeRoy and Richard of Dayton. He leaves eight grandchildren, Tony and Tim Wilson, Andy Strader, Amy Arnett, Gwen Walters, Jason Yelton, Paul Dieringer and Monica Munger, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He loved his family, friends and fishing. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, and had race cars at Shady Bowl.
One of the first to retire from Honda Motorcycle plant, he also previously worked at Airstream in Jackson Center and Dayton Rubber. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville and the Knights of Columbus.
No calling hours are planned as his body is to be cremated according to his wishes. The Rev. Father David Poliafico will conduct a graveside service Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Society.
